(report) Sources: A drafting committee vice-chairman has submitted a proposal on the composition of the consultative committee to the full meeting of 25 drafting committee members in HK on August 20. The proposal

suggested that the consultative panel's

members be selected from eight sectors industry and commerce, finance, legal, professionals, media, community groups, religion and expatriates who are permanent residents here. Of these eight sectors, community groups will make up 20 to 22 per cent of the consultative panel's membership, professionals 18 to 20 per cent and the media 12 to 14.

Mr Man Sai-cheong of HK Affairs Society: The consultative committee's constitution should list out the number of seats in the panel for political groups.
