The Express: HK people should do their utmost to seek greater participation in Basic Law formulation.

South China Morning Post: The open offer by NCNA HK director Xu Jiatun to several pro-Taiwan members of the local community should be endorsed by all those who have the interest of a future HK at heart. Nom Chinese should also be included in the consultative committee. As the consultative group's functions are completely different from those of the drafting body, it will not be out of place if the drafting committee also considers the views of non-Chinese so that it will have full

representation from all sectors of the

community.

Tin Fung Yat Po: It is an appropriate arrangement that four of the six members of the working group to draw up a charter for the consultative committee are drawn from the legal profession.
