d) After receiving all the nomination forms, the Ad Hoc Group

of Conveners will do the counting. Those nominated individually

by not less than 20 members of the Consultative Committee will

be considered as official candidates for the Executive Committee.

e) Nomination forms must reach the Organizing Office of the

Consultative Committee at 8/F., Lane Crawford House, 70, Queen's Road Central before 12:00 noon, 4 December 1985. (The time of

receipt is the time at which the form reaches the office.)

Method of Selecting Members of the Executive Committee,

a) In the preparatory meeting for the inception of the Consultative

Committee, each member of the Consultative Committee will choose

19 persons on the list of official candidates and vote for them

by secret ballot.

b) Members of the Consultative Committee who fail to attend the

preparatory meeting are considered as having abstained from

voting.

c) Members of the Consultative Committee who fail to attend the

preparatory meeting are eligible to be voted but not eligible

to vote.

d) Only ballot papers bearing votes for not more than 19 candidates

will be valid. Any ballot paper bearing votes for more than

19 candidates will become void.

e) In accordance with the results of counting the votes, the

19 official candidates given the greatest number of votes will

form the Executive Committee.

f) In accordance with the results of counting the votes, candidates

will be ranked by the number of votes they obtained. If an

equal number of votes are cast for a number of candidates ranked

at the rear positions and the number of these candidates exceeds the number of remaining seats on the Executive Committee, decision will be made through consultation or by drawing lots.

4. Other.

After the preparatory meeting, all records of nomination and voting will be sealed up for safekeeping for 30 days and, thereafter, destroyed if no objections are raised to the results.
