NATO EXPERT WORKING GROUP MEETING
1.
I have not yet received a copy of the outline for the NATO Expert Working Group Meeting on East and South Asia to be held in Brussels on 13 - 15 February. However, on the assumption that NATO's requirements are on the usual lines, it will be necessary for the two Sections to begin drafting soon. I should be grateful if you would aim to get the draft briefs to geographical departments by 14 January, for clearance by them by close of play on 18 January. will allow sufficient time for final checking and reproduction so that our contribution can be sent to NATO, as usual a fortnight before the meeting, ie by 30 January.

2. I should again be grateful if drafts on most countries could be kept within one and a half sides of double-spaced typed script, or even shorter where appropriate, although for some countries, eg China and India, the briefs will need to be somewhat longer.
3.
Hong Kong Department have kindly agreed to supply a short section on the Hong Kong agreement and immediate prospects (to reach me by 18 January please).
On present plans our representation will consist of a member of Far Eastern Department and Miss Kazer.
