Sir E Jackson plans to send : an assessment of Belgian objectives by 22 February. WED will prepare the usual background material on the Belgian scene and notes on the visitors.

I should be grateful if your contributions could reach Mr Musgrave (W66, 233 3266) by 1600 on Tuesday 26 February.
The Secretary of State's talks with Mr Tindemans
5. The briefing for the Prime Minister will be available for the Secretary of State's talks with Mr Tindemans (half an hour while the Prime Minister and Mr Martens are meeting tete-a-tete and on Saturday evening at Chevening). But I should be grateful if you could send to Mr Musgrave by the same deadline draft contributions for the separate checklist which WED will draft for Sir Geoffrey Howe covering subjects that are likely to be topical but are not on the agenda for the Prime Minister and Mr Tindemans. Any essential background can be in final form on white. My suggestion of additional topical subjects as follows:
Relations with Eastern Europe
(Sir Geoffrey Howe's visits)
EED, WED
Ethiopia (Belgian charter aircraft rescued Falashas)
EAD
Cambodia
A ab/Israel/Lebanon
SEAD
NENAD
6. We may need to change this list when we receive the Ambassador's assessment of Belgian objectives.
