I have mentioned the possibility of Mr Galsworthy hosting lunch for the members of the Hong Kong team with Hugh Morgan, PSD. There should be no problem over fincancial authority, which should be sought in writing once the numbers, timing of and venue for the lunch are known. have also confirmed with Paul Brown, HKGO, that lunchtime on Monday 29 July is available.

Once Mr Galsworthy has decided exactly who he wishes to invite and where he plans to take them, financial authority obtained from PSD before telegraphing Hong Kong about the issuing of invitations to the people concerned. (Mr Galsworthy, as He ad of Department, is limited to a maximum of £22.00 per head.)

On a point of interest, I gather from Mr Morgan that some other departments will be allocated an entertainment budget that will operate along similar lines to an Embassy Entertainment Pool. The budget will be adminisitered by the Head of Department, but it will be open to all officers in Grades 4-10 to apply to use it.
