Jury Service
An alien is liable to serve on Inquest juries, but as coroners normally use the Ordinary Jurers' book prepared from the electoral register to summon their Juries, it is unlikely that aliens ever serve in practice (and see Section 8 of the Aliens Registration (Amendment) Act 1919 as regards challenge)

Liability for certain specified offences committed on foreign soil
English Courts (at least) are empowered by certain modern statutes to exercise jurisdiction over British subjects who commit certain specified offences abroad e.g. homicide and bigamy
Liability for Extradition
Assumption of jurisdiction by English High Court over British subjects resident abroad If a proposed defendant is a British subject he can (by leave) be served with the writ.
Treaties made under these Acts often exclude the nationals of the contracting parties (e.g. treaty with France)
An alien residing abroad can only be served with notice of the writ.
