DRAFT HONG KONG (BRITISH NATIONALITY ORDER) 1985

1. This Order may be cited as the Hong Kong British Nationality

Order 1985 and shall come into operation on

For the purposes of this Order

was born in Hong Kong or was found

abandoned there as a newborn infant;

was adopted-in Hong Kong; or

(iii) was naturalised or registered in

he, his father or his mother was naturalised

or registered outside Hong Kong on an

application based on any of the following

(i)

residence wholly or mainly in Hong Kong;

service in Crown Service wholly or mainty

under the Government of Hong Kong;

(iii) descent in the male line from a person who

was born or naturalised in Hong Kong;

marriage to a person who is a British

Dependent Territories citizen by virtue

(iv)

of his having a connection with Hong Kong

as otherwise specified in this Article; or
