INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION OF PASSPORTS/RIGHT OF ABODE

I can

assure the House that the Government will do all

that they can to ensure the same access to other countries for holders of the BN (O) passports as that enjoyed at

present by BDTC passport holders. The Government will

make every effort to explain the new arrangements to third

countries between the enactment of the Order in Council and the issue of BN (O) passports.

Given that the new passports will contain a clear

indication of the right of abode there should be no reason

for other countries to introduce new restrictions on entry

of BN (O) passport holders.
