Brief tour (Please emphasise that Mr Renton

needs to reach Hong Kong by early

afternoon)

4. We agree with your advice (Hong Kong telno 2721) that

Mr Renton should call on Ji Pengfei. Subject to

confirmation that this is acceptable to the Governor,

please also bid for this.

detailed steer in due course on Mr Renton's activities

outside Peking, particularly UK business involvement.
