San Tin Development
we met on 10th September to discuss your
proposals for the San Tin Development and I am writing to confirm that it has been agreed that I should pursue the proposals with the San Tin Development and Management Co. Ltd. having regard to the objects set out in paragraph 31 of "San Tin Development Project. An Overview of the Conceptual Plan".
Once details of the scheme have been worked out, including an appraisal of financial and resource implications, it will be necessary to submit them for Government's further consideration and I must make it quite clear that by entering into discussions, Government is in no way committed to the implementation of any development scheme.
After our general discussion of your proposals, you agreed to produce an outline master plan for the whole development, together with your proposals for the phasing of the development and details of the first phase. We agreed that it would be best for you to discuss your plans with the Departments affected and I understand that as a first step to this the Regional Commissioner North West is arranging a meeting with you and with the Departments concerned.
I am sending a copy of this letter to Mr. Sweetman who will be in touch with you about this meeting.
