outside world. He claims to have been a priest, even during
the cultural revolution.

Recently appointed an alternate member of the
Central Committee. A member of the Sino-British Joint
Liaison Group. Understands but does not speak much English. A typical example of the younger generation being groomed for succession to senior posts. Good family connections and a
taste for the finer things in life as a result of his
privileged upbringing.
