(Statelessness/Indians) Have provided
for
descendants of former BDTCs who would otherwise be
stateless to retain form of British nationality for two
generations after 1997. This takes us to middle of 21st
century. We believe that the right course for those who
are permanently settled in what will then be a part of
China is for them
them to become Chinese nationals. We shall
pursue this matter with the Chinese Government.

(BN(O) passports) The Order does not deal with
passports, which are a matter of prerogative and do not require legislation. The Hong Kong Government is however
explaining the procedures we propose to adopt for BN (O)
passports.

HMG will do all
(Right of abode endorsement). A BN (O) passport will state that the holder possess Hong Kong ID card number
