Schreiber now tells us that he

13 is fully committed on the evening of 28 October and much regrets

therefore that he cannot accept the Governor's kind invitation.

15 He has however asked whether it would be possible for a

15 minute slot to be found in Mr Renton's programme on 28 or 17 29 October

for him to address a group of eight US Investment

Fund Managers, to whom Schreiber is playing host in Hong Kong. 19 He believes that this group, which is seeing Sir J Bremridge

20 and other prominent Hong Kong people, command investment funds of

some $30 billion and would react favourably to a briefing from 22 the Minister.
