2. I have spoken to the private offices and/or officials arranging the forthcoming Ministerial visits to Hong Kong. present position on the various visits is as follows:

The

(a) Mr Luce will be accompanied only by Peter Westmacott.

Mrs Luce has dropped out but may accompany the Minister on

his October visit;

(b) The Ridleys will leave Hong Kong for Peking on 25 September;

(c) Mr Fletcher will be accompanied by two officials and;

(d) As far as the Department of Employment are aware, Mr Morrison

will return to London on the evening of 20 September.
