Tin Tin Daily News: The Basic Law was the only law that would determine HK's future political system. Ideas of drastic changes would never be written into it.

Tin Fung Yat Po: Spoke against drastic changes and said that changes should be appropriate to changing circumstances.

On To of Centre Daily News: Urged community groups to watch closely the new round of war of words between China and Britain over the pace of political reform in HK. The result will influence the democratisation

significantly.

(reported) Source of Oriental Daily: It was unlikely that political reform will be raised at the JLG. If the Chinese wanted to discuss the matter, the British side could ask that the Basic Law should also be discussed at the meeting.
