(a) the privilege of
of statements made in
debate in Parliament, protecting
members from any action in the courts
for defamation arising out of
anything said in debate;
(b) freedom from arrest, providing
members with immunity from arrest
anywhere at any time during a session
in any civil cause, and protection
from arrest within the precincts
of
the House, while the House is
sitting, in a civil or criminal
matter, without the leave of the
House;
exemption from jury service; and
(a) exemption from attending any court as
a witness.
