(The following is the interpretation of what Mrs. NG asked.)

Sir, I am pleased to know that the Government is now building eleven THAS

providing 3,800 units but these cannot satisfy the needs. What plans does

the Government have to build more THAS in the next year and how many of

these are in urban areas?

Secretary for Housing:- Sir, there are 16 additional THA sites programmed

for development in the next financial year. These new THAS upon completion

would provide about 23,000 person spaces. The majority of these new sites

are in the urban areas including Tsuen Wan.
