THE INTERNATIONAL, YOUTH YEAR

Sir,

I am most grateful to Mrs. CHOW for moving, and

Dr. IF for her support for, the resolution on Hong Kong's

participation in the International Youth Year.

In her address, Mrs. CHOW has quite rightly

underlined the significance to our young people at this time

in our history of celebrating the International Youth Year

with its message of 'participation, development and peace'.

Like Mrs. CHOW, I, too, am most encouraged by

the characteristic enthusiasm and dedication with which our

agencies and organisations are taking up the challenge

presented by the concept of the International Youth. Year.

shall gain much by this involvement and it will be important

to continue with these efforts with the same vigour in the

years ahead.
