rs. Fan : Sir, can the Director of Sancation confirm whether it
is a fact that the opening hours of the teaching centres and the
I cource Meplay rooms mainly fall within office hours during which
time teachers are expected to teach in schools; and whether it is also
true that there are no full time professional staff a signed to lock
after the operation of the centres; and if by and large the answer
to both questions is yes, can the Director of Mucation tell us what
means he is considering to improve the situati
Director of Education : - The various centres vary in their opening
times. It might be helpful if I list these hous separately:

The C. Sural Crafts and language Centies are open daily al
office borers.
The Table and Colence and Cocial Tubjects contros tre open on all
Tednesday of the week.
The display rooms are open on Tednesday w Zasuriey mounings.
The Intermediate Troduction Services its are oren 7 days a week,
from Monday to Sunday, including Friday up to 7 p.m.
It is true that most of these centres are not staffed by full-time
staff, boose we intend to maximise the ace : our existing resources.
In additin, the public and the teachers can also organise visits by
appointments. So far the visits have been lone by appoint ents and not
in large numbers. However, e re quite prepared to respond to more
requests for visits and we might be able to reek ditial staff, if
the cases justify, to extend the opening hours if necessary.
