unreasonable to expect that it will make any contribution

in the visual arts field until at least they have established

themselves in the performing arts field.

Mr. Alex Wu: Is Government satisfied that there are sufficient

facilities such as museums, galleries, and contents therein,

to cope with the teaching of visual arts, especially in

cultivating and understanding aesthetic appreciation?

Secretary for Education and Manpower:- Sir, I am sure we would

all like more art galleries and museums. I think it would be

fair to say that there are sufficient number of such institutions

at least to provide some assistance to the education system.
