Supplementary to Question No. 10 in the Legislative Council on 6 February 1985

Mr. Brown:- Sir, would the Secretary for Security say whether Government

contemplates any change in the immigration rules which would restrict the

entry of additional domestic workers or curtail the ability of existing

workers to renew their employment permits?

Secretary for Security:- No, Sir, we sought the advice of Executive Council

on this issue last year and at present we see no cause to seek Executive

Council's advice again. Nevertheless we are monitoring the situation

extremely carefully.
