Secretary for Health & Welfare :- Sir, controls on the disposal of farm waste

are being developed as subsidiary legislation under the Waste Disposal Ordinance.

The intention is to replace or try to replace the present practice whereby most

of such wastes are flushed into the streams with more sanitary means of waste

storage and disposal. And I hope it will be possible to bring forward such

legislation before the end of this year.
