seek the prior permission of the Security Assistant on duty (Telephone: 5-8440850). Members' cars will be permitted to enter this area for the purposes of picking up and setting down passengers. The permanent car parking places will be reserved for the cars of the Governor, the Chief Secretary and the Senior Unofficial Members of the Executive and Legislative Councils.

Visitors to the Building

Visitors to the building should report to the Security Assistant on duty, and except as provided below should use the public entrances on the Statue Square side of the building. The Members' entrance on the Jackson Road side of the building is reserved for Members, their guests and authorised persons. There is also a service entrance on the Jackson Road side of the building which is reserved for maintenance and catering staff and disabled persons.

Opening

The building will be opened in its new role by the Governor on Wednesday 30 October immediately before the Governor's Address at the opening of the 1985/86 Legislative Session. Attendance at these events will be by invitation.

The Former Legislative Council Chamber

No decisions have yet been made on the long term future use of the former Legislative Council Chamber in the Government Secretariat. For the time

being, it will serve as a conference room. Bookings should be made with the Executive Council Registry Office, Room 109, Government Secretariat (Telephone No. 5-95581). The new Chamber and associated committee rooms are reserved strictly for Legislative Council or UMELCO business.
