circular announces the arrangements for the new Legislative Council Building and certain changes in the arrangements for handling of Legislative Council business consequent on the increase in the number of Members of the Legislative Council from 45 to 56, the reduction of Official Members to 10 including 3

ex-officio Members and the introduction into the Council of elected Members.

The Legislative Council Building

With effect from 30 October, the Legislative Council Chamber will be housed in the

Also housed in the building will be:

elements of the Councils. Division of the Government Secretariat who will move into the building on Thursday 17 October. These will include the Deputy Clerk of Councils (the Clerk

The Clerk of Councils will also have an office in the building, but for the most part he will continue to work in his present office in the Government Secretariat. The Gazette Office will remain in the Councils Office in the Secretariat along with the Executive Council Annexe and a small secretarial and clerical staff;
