Rules for Legislative Council Chamber

We are considering the need of drawing up a set of rules to regulate the administration of the new Legislative Council Chamber in the former Supreme Court Building which will be opened in October this year. It is envisaged that these rules would cover the following general areas -

rights of access to the various parts of the building;

nomination of Officers of the Council, their duties in the building;

(c)

conduct within the building

-

security security staff, right to search, deposit of baggage, fire, theft, emergency evacuation; and

It would be helpful to have a copy of similar rules used in the House of Commons, if there are such rules at all, to serve as a check-list to facilitate our deliberation. I venture therefore to ask for your help once again, after all those 'relics' which you so kindly helped to secure for Hugh Walker, to obtain for me a copy of such rules, or indeed, any similar material.

Incidentally, I have retrieved your letter to LEE Lap-sun and the accompanying signed copies of the Letters Patent and Royal Instructions.
