Following the publication of the White Paper on the Further Development of Representative Government in Hong Kong on 21 November 1984, the Director, Councils and

Administration Branch of the Government Secretariat and

members of his staff held a series of informal meetings with the Chairmen, Presidents and senior officials of the

various representative organisations on which the two types of functional constituencies will be based, namely those comprising corporate bodies and those comprising

certain professional organisations involved included:-
