3. The premises of the said Office and the residence of its Director purchased by the Office are properties belonging to the People's Republic of China and should be exempt from taxes. Likewise articles
for official use imported into or taken out of Hongkong or bought locally in Hongkong by the said Office should be exempt from duties and taxes.
After the Office is set up, the Chinese side has expressed its wish to continue talks on the above-mentioned matters to have them settled appropriately. The British side has said that it is willing to discuss any practical problems affecting the functioning of the Visa Office in
order to find suitable solutions.
