SCHEDULE
CONSEQUENTIAL PROVISIONS
Diplomatic privileges
Section 2(2)
Those members of the Joint Liaison Group set up
under paragraph 5 of the Declaration mentioned in section 1(2) of
this Act who are nominated by the Government of the People's
Republic of China shall while in the United Kingdom have the same
privileges and immunities as those conferred on diplomatic agents
by the Diplomatic Privileges Act 1964.
Nationality
2.-(1) Her Majesty may by Order in Council make
provision whereby persons who immediately before the date
mentioned in section 1(1) of this Act are British Dependent
Territories citizens by virtue only of a connection with Hong Kong
will on that date cease to be such citizens but be entitled, on
application, to acquire such other form of British nationality as is
specified in the Order.
(2) An Order under this paragraph may contain such
supplementary, transitional and consequential provisions as appear to
Her Majesty to be necessary or expedient for the purposes of the
Order, including provision
-
(a) for the acquisition of the new status mentioned
in sub-paragraph (1) above before the date
there mentioned;
