Thank you for your letter of 27 November enclosing the two folders of papers relating to the work of the Monitoring Team. These have now been placed in our archives.

I did indeed find it interesting to read through the folders. As you said you were given a unique task. The papers may therefore provide a useful precedent if the British Government has to carry out a similar exercise in the future. I won't suggest where it might be!
