FUTURE OF HONG KONG: WHITE PAPER ON TEST OF ACCEPTABILITY:

LETTERS FROM MR LUCE AND LADY YOUNG TO PARLIAMENTARIANS

1. Further to my minute of today's date, Mr Luce has suggested a further addition to the covering letter to MPs as a result of which the second paragraph now reads as follows:

"As you know, the Government is strongly recommending to Parliament the Draft Agreement on Hong Kong's future. I hope you will find this White Paper to be of interest in advance of next week's debate. If there is anything you would like to ask me about the White Paper before the debate, please ring my office direct or contact my PPS, Michael Colvin MP."

I should be grateful if you could confirm as soon as possible that the revised wording is acceptable to Lady Young.
