Sir Patrick Nairne wrote to you on 15 October claiming payment of his fees for the period 25 September - 15 October. I have processed this letter and payment has now been made. I attach a draft letter from you to Sir Patrick.

2. As agreed between Sir Patrick and myself, in order to speed up the process of payments, Sir Patrick has sent a letter to me, addressed to you dated 5 November. In this he claims his fees for the period 16 October to 5 November. I shall process this on 5 November and draft another acknowledgement from you.
