PRIVATELY OWNED SHIPPING BUSINESSES ABLE TO CONTINUE?

70. Yes. Agreement makes clear that private shipping businesses

and shipping related business and private container terminals may

continue to operate freely in SAR.

SAR TO BE AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER OF THE INTERNATIONAL MARITIME

ORGANISATION?

71. Yes. Provision is made in agreement for SAR to continue to

participate in organisations of this kind.

HONG KONG'S SHIPPING LEGISLATION TO BE PART OF PRC OR SAR

LEGISLATION?

72. Consistent with provisions of agreement that it will be part of

SAR legislation.

FOREIGN SHIPS, INCLUDING TAIWAN SHIPS, TO BE ABLE TO COME TO

HONG KONG?

73. Agreement makes clear that merchant shipping will continue to enjoy access to the ports of the SAR in accordance with the laws of

the SAR.
