30. The sheer irresponsibility of such proposals
beggars belief.
They suggest a Party which is not only
unfit, but is also unwilling, to govern. Their latest
document is a sorry instrument of unconditional
surrender by those in the Labour Party who once dared
to fight for multilateral disarmament. Now all that is
left is an accumulation of bleached and battered
intellectual jetsam, left high and dry by the
fast-receding tide of sanity in the Labour Party. The
last feeble flickers of multilateralism seem to have
been extinguished. The darkness of one-sided
disarmament has descended.
