I attach in draft, three paragraphs for Lady Young's use. We shall need to explain to Mr Colquhoun (I shall draft a covering minute) that we will wish to review the passage in square brackets in para 1 in the light of the February round of talks.

3. I have not yet seen any request for defensive briefing for possible use in the winding-up speech. (Mr Colquhoun's para 6). When we receive one, we shall be able to draw on our list of Notes for Supplementary PQ's. The economy (Mr Hoare's point)

is covered in that.
