You enquired whether any other of the ''elderly ladies'' in Mme Li's party were also married to senior Chinese leaders (Mr Margolis' letter to you of 7 November). I am afraid not. The only other member on whom I have any information is the

number two in the delegation, Song Ting. She was a Party Secretary in No 2

Cotton Mill in the fifties, and later (in 1965) Director of the Peking Textile Bureau.
