3. Limitation

Table 1

As this survey was not conducted by random sampling, there may be some limitation in the results. However, of the 2,100 questionnaires sent out, there were 1,711 returns, giving a fairly high return rate of 81.48% for self-administered questionnaires. This shows the concern of Southern District residents for Hong Kong's future.

1. 'Sovereignty and administration over Hong Kong'

1.1 On the question of whether Hong Kong is part of Chinese territory,

83.99% of the respondents felt that Hong Kong is part of Chinese territory and that sovereignty belongs to China. (See Table 2)
