RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS

The basic rights and freedoms of all persons in Hong Kong will con-

tinue to be protected by law as at present. These include :

1.

Freedom of speech

2.

Freedom of the press

3.

Freedom of assembly and association

4.

Freedom to join a trade union and to strike

5.

Freedom of movement and travel

Freedom of religious belief

7. Marriage and birth

Every person will have the right to legal advice, access to courts and

legal representation in the courts.

Religious organisations and peoples of all beliefs will be free to

pursue their interests and associations with pecple of all places.

Religious schools and hospitals may continue as before.
