Notice of the resumption and clearance will be given to the owners and occupants of the structures to be cleared. Details of the works and the need to improve the safety of the area will be explained if this becomes a public issue.

Advice sought

Members will be asked to advise

(a) under section 2 of the Crown Lands

Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance, whether the purpose of the proposed resumption is a public purpose; and

(b)

under section 3 of that Ordinance, whether the resumption of the private land referred to in paragraph 6 is required for that purpose.

(The Principal Government Land Agent, Mr F.D. ROOME, and the Principal Government Geotechnical Engineer, Mr E.W. BRAND, will attend before the Council for the discussion of this item.)
