Born 30 November 1928 at Balalelara SA. Secondary level education. A farmer. Elected to the South Australian House of
Assembly in 1959. Premier of South Australia 1968-70. Senator for South Australia 1974-77. Member for Boothby, SA since 1981.
As Shadow Special Minister of State his particular interests relate to electoral matters and the Federal police.
A senior Liberal politician, and a long term supporter of
Mr Peacock and public critic of Mr Fraser.
Visited UK in 1968 and 1969, as Premier of South Australia.
Suffers from slight deafness.
