Wang Zhen in Shanxi (Excerpt) On the morning of 30th November, Wang Zhen, member of the CCP Central Committee Political Bureau paid a visit to the Taiyuan iron and steel company, accompanied by Gao Yangwen, Minister of Coal, Jin Deqin, Chairman of the Bank of China, and Li Xiuren and Wang Jiangong, Deputy Secretaries of the CCP Committee. Gansu progress in second stage Party rectification (Excerpts) This morning [30th November] the Provincial CCP Committee held a meeting of leading cadres of provincial organs to mobilise those organs carrying out Party rectification to do a good job in organisational measures and re-registration of Party members and make a success of rectification from beginning to end. Jia Zhijie, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial CCP Committee, presided. Liu Bing, Deputy Secretary of the committee and deputy leader of the committee's Party rectification leadership group, delivered a mobilisation report. Comrade Liu Bing said: The majority of provincial units have now carried out rectification and correction for four months. By now 42 of the 88 units are switching to the stage of organisational measures and re-registration of Party members. Thirty-four units can complete this switch at the end of November or the beginning of December. A further 12 are currently carrying out rectification and correction in depth. Generally speaking, the units have done a lot of work during this stage and achieved notable success in rectification and correction. The majority of units are basically ready for switching to the stage of organisational measures and re-registration of Party members. . .

Comrade Liu Bing said: Party rectification work in the province has now been underway more than one year and has produced great success. However there are inadequacies, when viewed in the light of the demands of the central decision on rectification and there is still much to do. We must continue to get a good grasp of rectification and correction work, get a vigorous grasp of backward units, resolutely readjust the leadership groups, continue to do a good job in verification work and make a success of rectification from beginning to end... Tibet to open peaks to tourism The Tibet Mountaineering Association will gradually open all the region's peaks to foreigners, Losang Dagwa, the association's vice-president, said in Peking on 29th November. "The association had decided to open all the peaks in the region in the next few years. It will send out reconnaissance teams to make survey of some peaks before opening them," Losang Dagwa said. "The association will also organise other high-altitude sports activities including motorcyling, cycling, horse-back riding and hunting. Foreigners can be boating in the Yarlung Zangbo, Lancang and Nujiang Rivers, and we will organise aerial sightseeing tours, so visitors can see the scenery on the roof of the world," he said. End of Zhi Gong Dang Central Committee meeting (Excerpt) The second enlarged meeting of the eighth Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Dang concluded in Peking on the afternoon of 30th November. The meeting adopted a "Resolution of the second (enlarged) meeting of the eighth Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Dang". The "Resolution" says: All representatives attending the meeting have earnestly studied and unanimously expressed their resolute support for the "Decision of the CCP Central Committee on reform of the economic structure".

The meeting also discussed and approved the work report made by Chairman Huang Dingchen on behalf of the eighth Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Dang, and drew up an "Outline of the work of the Zhi Gong Dang for 1985", which calls on Party organisations of all levels and members to actively participate in the country's political activities, strengthen contacts with relatives and friends overseas and contribute to the accomplishment of the four modernisations.
