SECRETARY OF STATE'S PROPOSED VISIT TO HONG KONG AND PEKING 25 JULY 2 AUGUST

I attach a draft telegram to Hong Kong and Peking in connection with the administration arrangements for the proposed visit by the Secretary of State from 25 July to 2 August. and should be grateful for any comments you may have on it.

2. Please note the flying times for the RAF VC10. These will be of use when the programme is being planned. As soon as the visit is confirmed I should be grateful if I can be informed of timings for this visit so

So that the RAF can start obtaining flight clearance (they in any case be unable to give the normal 3 weeks notice to overfly countries such as India).

Once the visit is confirmed I should be grateful, if this Department can be put on the distribution lists of telegrams and submissions since time will be very short to set up

the administrative arrangements.
