next week. There is a continuous process of consultation with
the people of Hong Kong on all matters relating to the territory's future. A wide range of channels has evolved in Hong Kong through which people make their views known. We particularly value our regular discussions with the Governor and unofficial members of Hong Kong's Executive Council.
These well placed to reflect Hong Kong opinions. Most recently in London for discussions with Ministers, including
the Prime Minister, 4-6 April.
WHERE DOES THE BRITISH PARLIAMENT COME INTO THIS? WHAT ROLE
WILL IT PLAY?

Parliament's role crucial. Will be for Parliament to decide,
for our part, on the acceptability of arrangements negotiated
with the Chinese Government for Hong Kong's future.
Parliament will do this taking full account of Hong Kong's
views.
