Secretary of State's Proposed Visit to the Far East in April

The Secretary of State was grateful for your submission of 4 January. He is content that planning should proceed on the basis that he will visit Hong Kong, Japan and Korea in April. He agrees that the week before Easter, as you suggested, looks the best time for this visit. We cannot however yet go firm as the French have suggested a Foreign Affairs Council in that week. We are trying to get this moved, and will be in touch. again once the dates can be confirmed.
