SECRETARY OF STATE'S TOUR OF THE FAR EAST: PRESS
1. You will have seen a copy of my teleletter to posts about the administrative arrangements for the Secretary of State's tour of the Far East, and in particular about the possibility of a press party.
2. I enclose a copy of an extract from a teleletter from Michael Reilly in Seoul. You will, I assume, be telegraphing usual instructions to the posts about what is required for the press party when more details of names and numbers are known. Meanwhile, I have asked Seoul to make provisional hotel bookings for the press party (in the Chosun hotel with other members of the party), and enquired if the KOIS will make a charge for arranging transport and press facilities.
3. Hong Kong have replied that reservations for the press will also be made (if possible in the same hotel as members of the party The Furama Hotel) and suitable transport will
be provided for them.
3. No reply yet received from Tokyo.
