immediately before the date of these Instructions.

(A) In these Instructions "the appointed date"

means such date as the said Governor shall appoint for the commencement of the session of the said Legislative Council commencing next after the session proceeding at

the date of these Instructions.

Deletion and substitution of Clause XIII.

2. The principal Instructions are amended by deleting Clause XIII and substituting the following

"Constitution

(1) The Legislative Council

of

Legislative Council.

of the Colony shall consist of -

(a) the Governor;

(b)

the persons for the time being

lawfully discharging the functions

of Chief Secretary, Attorney-

General and Financial Secretary of

the Colony (hereinafter called

"ex officio Members");

(c)

such other persons holding office

under the Crown in the Colony, not

exceeding seven in number at any

one time, as We may from time to

time appoint by any Instructions or

Warrants under Our Sign Manual and

Signet or as the Governor, in

pursuance of Instructions from Us

through one of Our Principal
