likely that they would wish to study it at length, for

which the summer recess would be an appropriate

opportunity. One time constraint, however, is the

intention of the Public Accounts Committee to start

public hearings in the next session, which would make it

desirable for the Bill to be enacted in October.

Advice sought

24.

Members will be asked to advise whether the

Legislative Council (Powers and Privileges) Bill 1984,

as annexed, should be introduced into the Legislative

Council.
