AN ORDINANCE DEFINING SOME OF THE POWERS AND PRIVILEGES
OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL, ITS MEMBERS AND OFFICERS.
[12th June, 1964.]
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Legislative Council Short title. (Powers and Privileges) Ordinance.
2. In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires, Interpretation.
"authorized committee" means any standing committee of the Council or any other committee authorized under subsec- tion (2) of Section 8 to exercise the powers of a standing committee;
"Clerk" means the Clerk of the Council and includes any person acting as such on the authority of the Speaker;
"committee" means any standing, select or other committee of the Council;
"Council" means the Legislative Council;
"journals" means the official record of the votes and pro- ceedings of the Council;
"meeting" means any sitting or sittings of the Council commencing when the Council first meets after being sum- moned at any time and terminating when the Council is adjourned sine die or at the conclusion of a session;
"member" means any member of the Council and includes the Speaker;
"officer" means the Clerk or any other officer or person acting within the precincts of the Council Chamber under the orders of the Speaker;
"precincts of the Council Chamber" means the chamber in which the Council or a committee thereof sits for the trans- action of business, together with the offices, rooms, lobbies,
