(c) by inserting after paragraph (e) the following—

"(ea) other than a member who is a member by virtue of section 6(1)(b), fails throughout a period of 6 consecutive months to attend any meeting of the Board unless such failure was due to some reason approved by that Board;
(eb) who is an elected member, is convicted on a date after his election of an offence referred to in section 19(g)(ii) or (iv) of the Electoral Provisions Ordinance;
(ec) who is an appointed member, is convicted on a date after his appointment of an offence referred to in section 9(4)(ƒ)(ii) or (iv);".
Section 15(1) of the first principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "Subject to section 16, a" and substituting the following---
"A".
10. Section 16 of the first principal Ordinance is repealed.
11. Section 21 of the first principal Ordinance is amended—
(a) by deleting "and the approval of the Designated Officer";
(b) in paragraph (b) by deleting "make standing orders" and substituting the
following-
"make such standing orders as are necessary and reasonable".
12. Section 26(1) of the first principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "Supreme" and substituting the following-
"High".
PART III
AMENDMENTS TO THE URBAN COUNCIL ORDINANCE
13. Section 10 of the Urban Council Ordinance ("the second principal Ordinance") is amended by deleting paragraph (g)(iii).
14. Section 16 of the second principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "the Colony" wherever it occurs and substituting the following-
“Hong Kong”.
15. Section 18 of the second principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) in paragraph (a)(ii) by deleting "Supreme" and substituting the following--
"High";
(b) by inserting after paragraph (g) the following—
(Cap. 367.)
"(ga) who is an elected member, is convicted on a date after his election of an offence referred to in section 19(g)(ii) or (iv) of the Electoral Provisions Ordinance;
(gb) who is an appointed member, is convicted on a date after his appointment of an offence referred to in section 10(g)(ii) or (iv);".

16. Section 51A of the second principal Ordinance is amended- (a) in subsection (1) by deleting "Supreme" and substituting the following-
"High";
(b) in subsection (8)(b) by deleting "or failure to attend meetings of the Urban
Council,".
PART IV
AMENDMENTS TO THE ELECTORAL PROVISIONS ORDINANCE
Amendment of section 51A.
17. Section 2 of the Electoral Provisions Ordinance ("the third principal Amendment of Ordinance") is amended-
(a) by deleting the definition of "candidate";
(b) in the definition of "elector" by inserting after "name" the following-
"or identity card number";
(c) by deleting the definition of "ordinary election" and substituting the
following-
""ordinary elelction" means an election to fill the vacancies on the Urban Council or on a District Board caused by the expiration of the term of office of members;".
section 2. (Cap. 367.)
18. Section 3 of the third principal Ordinance is amended by deleting sub- Amendment of section (1) and substituting the following—
"(1) By order published in the Gazette-
(a) the Governor in Council may declare any area of a District which, or the greater area of which, is in the urban areas to be a constituency for the purpose of the election of persons to act as members of the Urban Council; (b) the Governor in Council may declare any area of a District to be a constituency for the purpose of the election of persons to act as members of the District Board established for that District;
(c) the Governor may, in respect of any constituency declared under paragraph (a) or (b), declare the number of vacancies for members in that constituency.".
19. Section 6 of the third principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) in subsection (1) by deleting "lawfully";
(b) in subsection (2) by deleting "the rejection of the vote by the Court on an
election petition" and substituting the following-
"the Court from exercising its powers under section 37".

20. Section 8 of the third principal Ordinance is amended by deleting sub- Amendment of section (2) and substituting the following-

"(2) The requirement in subsection (1) relating to ordinary residence in Hong Kong for 7 years shall not apply to any person who is a Hong Kong belonger within the meaning of the Immigration Ordinance.".

21. Section 9 of the third principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "30 Amendment of November" and substituting the following—
"31 December".
