While fielding queations from callers, Mr Bray intained that since the Government hoped to have elected members to Legco by early August next year, various preparations had to be done between now and then and the two-month consultation period for the Orean Faper w sufficient. One caller, Dr L.K. Ding of the HK Delegation for the Promotion of Democracy, argued that the Grean Paper had failed to look forward to 1997 and therefter. He reiterated that at least one-third of the Legco adera should be directly elected by 1987 because the existing Unofficials could not represent the public.
